Privacy notice

Afritrust Investment Limited, 76A Adeniyi Jones Avenue, Ogba Road, Ikeja, Lagos, is responsible for the personal information you give us through this website. This notice explains what we collect, what we do with it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

What we collect

Only what you type into one of our forms.

If you use the short form at the top of the page: your first name, phone number, email address, what you want to finance and when you need it.

If you request a quote: what you want to finance, roughly what it costs, what deposit you could put down or what you could manage each month, whether the use is business or personal, your name, phone number, email address, and anything you choose to add in the optional box.

If you contact us about partnering: your business contact details and what you sell.

We do not ask for your bank details, your BVN or NIN, or any identity document, and there is nowhere on this website to upload one. Please do not send them to us through this site. If we need documents in order to assess your application, we will tell you what we need and how to send it.

The savings calculator does not send us anything

The figures you put into the solar savings calculator — your generator size, your fuel and maintenance spend, what you could pay each month — stay in your own browser. They are not sent to us, and we do not see them or store them. You can work out what solar would save you without telling us anything at all.

Why we collect it

To answer you, to work out a quote, and to carry out the assessment described in “How it works” on this site. That is all. We will not add you to a mailing list or send you marketing because you asked us for a quote.

Asking for a quote does not commit you to anything, and it costs nothing. Nothing is agreed until you have seen every figure in writing.

Who reads it

A person at Afritrust reads every enquiry — we do not make decisions about you automatically, by scoring or by any other machine. Your details are seen by the people here who handle enquiries and assessments. We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to anyone else without asking you first.

We do not check your credit record because you filled in a form here. If your enquiry becomes a formal application, we may ask a licensed credit bureau for your credit report. Nigerian law requires your written permission before a bureau may release it, and we will ask you for that separately and in plain words at the time — not in advance, and not buried in this notice.

We will not introduce you to a dealer or an installer behind your back. Some assets need a supplier to look at what you already have before anyone can size or price the job — a solar system in particular. If that would help your enquiry, we will tell you who we want to introduce you to and why, and we will only do it if you agree. If you would rather we did not, say so and we will work around it.

Two suppliers handle what you send us, in order to deliver it to us and only on our instructions: Spaceship, which hosts this website, and Spacemail, which carries our email.

Where your information is held

Outside Nigeria. Our host and email provider store this data on servers in the United Kingdom, because neither offers a Nigerian or African region. This is a cross-border transfer of your personal data and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 requires us to tell you it happens, so we are telling you plainly rather than in a footnote.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry does not go any further, we delete it twelve months after we last heard from you. You can ask us to delete it sooner and we will.

If your enquiry becomes an agreement with us, your details move into your customer file, and we keep that for as long as the law and our regulators require, and no longer.

What you can ask us to do

Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you. Correct it if it is wrong. Delete it. Ask us to stop using it, or to stop contacting you. Ask us to send it to you in a form you can take elsewhere. If you gave us your details through the short form at the top of the page, you can withdraw that at any time, for any reason or none.

Write to operations@afritrustinvestment.com and we will act within thirty days. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Cookies and analytics

Nothing is stored on your device until you say yes. When you first arrive you are asked whether we may use Google Analytics. If you decline, or simply never answer, no analytics code is loaded and no cookie is set. Declining costs you nothing: every part of this site works the same either way, the calculator included.

If you accept, we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which sections are read. Google Signals is off, advertising storage and ad personalisation are off, and Google processes this outside Nigeria, including in the United States — a second cross-border transfer, separate from our hosting. Nothing else third-party runs on these pages: no advertising pixels, no social trackers, no session recording. Our typefaces are served from this website rather than from a font service.

We also count three things that happen on the page: that an enquiry was sent and which of the forms it came from, that the savings calculator was used, and that someone took their calculator figures through to the quote form. These counts carry nothing you typed — not your name, your number, your email address, or any figure you put into the calculator. They tell us how many people did something, never who or what. If you decline, none of it is counted and none of it is sent.

Security, and one warning

This site is served over an encrypted connection and your details go to mailboxes we control.

We will never ask you to pay a deposit, an instalment or a “processing fee” into a personal account, an agent’s account, or any account that is not in the name of Afritrust Investment Limited. We will never ask for your password, a one-time password, or your banking details. If anyone contacts you claiming to be us and asks for any of those things, it is not us — call us on +234 802 351 4069.
